For the first time the acclaimed Melbourne Cabaret Festival is touring in 2014!
Now you can enjoy a titillating selection of acts from one of the world’s largest cabaret festivals. Performances range in style from Broadway-style glamour and sophistication; to burlesque artists; and risque, provocative and melodic acts.
Lush blue curtains and a smattering of sparkling stars sets the scene for an intimate taste of this beloved art form. The Gala will be hosted with all the flair, playful wit and costume changes one could hope for. This is an ideal time of year to make your way into an intimate performance space to have your soul sparked by some of the best in the business.

‘Cabaret’ is a genre that defies a clear form and creates a form through a process of constant mutation or evolution. So deconstructionists will become disorientated. Could be good for their development.

Cabaret is a weird kind of alchemy that spontaneously arises between artist and performer. So your energy and self is as important as the artist – leading, for that is all they are doing, the show.

Cabaret traditionally embraces the social pastime of consuming alcohol joyously during performances. Unbuttons those social inhibitions, dissolves or softens the lines between us.

Cabaret is greater than the sum of all the parts that makes up the experience, because when it flies – everyone feels connection, united in the euphoric experience of collective, albeit it temporary, creativity. To indeed be GODS!
