Tecoma’s Future – Free Workshop
The Shire of Yarra Ranges and the Tecoma Village Action Group invite you to participate in a Community Workshop with Mr Peter Kenyon, Australia’s foremost social capitalist and community enthusiast.
FREE Workshop for the wider Tecoma community (anyone living in or using services or businesses in Tecoma).
Date: Wednesday 21 May
Time: 7.00pm-9.00pm (light refreshments served beforehand from 6.30pm)
Where: Tecoma Primary School Hall 1536 Burwood Highway Tecoma
Why should you become involved?
Because it is our community and we should all have a say in its future direction and development. This Vision will build the foundation for future development and will support grant applications and funding opportunities.
Come and be inspired by Peter Kenyon and hear how others have used community planning to focus energy and resources on projects that are important to them.
The workshop will cover:
- Community Planning – what is it and why is it important
- How to get started
- How to get the whole community involved
- How to identify your town’s assets
- Developing a community vision statement for Tecoma

Peter Kenyon is a social capitalist and community enthusiast. Over the last two decades he has worked with over 1500 communities throughout Australia and overseas seeking to facilitate fresh and creative ways that stimulate community and economic renewal. He is motivated by the desire to create healthy, caring, inclusive, sustainable and enterprising communities and local economies.

The Tecoma Village Action Group (TVAG) is one of many Township Groups throughout the Dandenong Ranges working to make their township a better place to live and work. TVAG is a member of the Shire of Yarra Ranges Townships Network.
Membership of TVAG is open to anyone who has an interest in improving the township of Tecoma, whether it be the place where you live or work, or just enjoy as a visitor to the ‘Gateway of the Southern Dandenongs’.
